The Founder

Rachel Lyons:

Born and raised in Hamilton west, Rachel Lyons has been working as a Montessorian since 2000. She received her primary A.M.I. Casa diploma from the Foundation for Montessori education training centre in Toronto. Before opening Lyonsgate Montessori School her responsibilities at other schools included Casa primary teacher, supervisor and head of Casa programs. Prior to doing her Montessori training she graduated from Mohawk college with a diploma in Early Childhood Education and was also a Montessori child herself.

Staff

Sarah Deakin:

Miss Deakin works as the Casa Directress at Lyonsgate Montessori School. She understands first hand what it is like for the children in the classroom as she went through the Montessori program from the age of 3 until grade 3. Always having a love and appreciation for children she studied and ultimately graduated from Mohawk college at the top of her class with a diploma in Early childhood education. In 2006 Sarah took her learning to the next level and registered to do her Montessori training at the A.M.I. teacher training centre in Toronto (the Foundation for Montessori Education). After successfully completing her Montessori training Miss Deakin came to us and has been at Lyonsgate ever since. Sarah is amazing with the children and with the parents and we feel that she is the perfect fit for our small quaint school!

Andrea Titian: French Assistant

Mrs. Titian works as the french speaking assistant at Lyonsgate Montessori School. As a mother of four Mrs. Titian understands first hand what it takes to be a positive role model for a child. She grew up in Hamilton west and studied french from kindergarten through to the University levels. She is nurturing, caring and always smiling! Andrea is a great first introduction to the french language for your child as children are attracted to her caring and positive nature!
