The practical life area has activities that surround the child in everyday life such as pouring, cutting and sweeping. Since the child has the need to adapt into their environment these exercises draw them in to an understanding of how things work. Care of the environment, care of the person and grace and courtesy, the Practical life area is the foundation for all the other areas of the classroom. These exercises aid the child in control and co-ordination of their movements, concentration, independence, self-esteem and responsibility.
